AC Hotel and Residence Inn Marriott
The AC Hotel and Residence Inn by Marriott in Dallas features Neolith® outdoor cladding
In the heart of the 4 billion dollar recently built development known as “a city within the city” of Dallas, stands the AC Hotel and Residence Inn by Marriott.
Neolith® helped get this project for the hotel chain off the ground all while setting a precedent for the future of architecture in downtown Dallas with collaboration from the award-winning architecture firm 5G Studio Collaborative and Holland Marble. 5G Studio Collaborative andHolland Marble.
Dazzling facades
5G Studio Collaborative sought a unique contemporary design, that would match the timelessness, comfort and authenticity of the Marriott brand. The firm developed a captivating look that includes Spanish architectural heritage and the European style AC Hotels are known for as well as the modern architecture style seen in Dallas with metal ventilated facades.
The result? 465 square meters of a trapezoidal shaped Neolith® facade, meticulously designed and carefully installed by local installers and producers from Holland Marble.
We enjoyed the design process as we were able to maintain the initial concept from the very first phases all the way through completion. We’re quite pleased with the final result: a facade that seems to float with gentle transitions between the front, eastern and western sides. It’s also quite cozy which is rather essential for a hotel.
Against the elements
Neolith® stands firm through all types of inclement weather and is, therefore, ideal for outdoor cladding in urban environments.
Calacatta, the color chosen for the project, recreates Italian marble and is known for the uniform grey veins with gold touches that bring vitality to the building.
“The project required a classical color with a modern look that would not only bear the heat of Texas but also give off a cozy aura for guests and passersby. 5G Studio had just finished another commercial facade with Neolith so we knew it was the perfect material for this immense work of architecture and that the material would resist the passing of time,” adds Holland Marble.
