Casa NAAN is Personality Surrounded by Nature

Neolith® revolutionizes the
mountain architecture of the Pyrenees

Come inside this unique home, a mountain refuge. At 1200 m in altitude, Casa NAAN is located in one of the most privileged areas of Andorra.

The owner, Anna Noguera, commissioned architect Enric Dilmé, to build a very unique home that would match the family’s lifestyle.

Intuitive orientation

The result was the construction of a 2000 m2, rhorizontal building, distributed in three volumes, and a 1500 m2 garden with a key orientation

The middle floor in the home on the garden level features the living room, kitchen and a guest bedroom. Plus, there’s an indoor swimming pool at the back leading to a lovely English patio.

The top floor features the entrance door, four bedrooms with full bathrooms and dressing rooms, a game room and a large parking area. Both floors are connected via a monumental staircase. The lower underground floor is where the owners enjoy their pool and cellar.

Black and white minimalism

With a new vision of residential architecture, Dilmé and the owners wanted to move away from the country look of the other buildings in the area, designing a home with straight, pure lines. Neolith® turned out to be a great choice for achieving this result.

They chose pure colors, playing with tones ranging from white to black and combining the white concrete of the roofs, cantilevers and balconies Neolith® Basalt Black de 3.200 x 1.500 mm, for the main volume as well as the floors, stairs and indoor walls. The Basalt Grey model in the same format was used for the side volumes of the home.

The large Neolith format makes it possible to reduce seams and create share and minimalist volumes. The Basalt model gets the desired stone paneling look all while giving you the possibility to combine the two versions.

Neolith®, Material Par Excellence

The monochrome décor is also present in the kitchen, creating a play of colors with the neutral tones like Arctic White on the countertop and kitchen island. This fail-proof design choice comes together to create an impeccable esthetic that contrasts with the dark kitchen furnishings covered in Basalt Black.

While Neolith® Neolith® Aspen Grey is the main model in the wine cellar. The large matte grey table adds character and enhances this incredibly special space where you will enjoy and savor good wines.

Neolith was used on facades, floors, interiors and exteriors as well as the interior walls. Furniture was even designed with this material like the cellar table and kitchen countertop.

Dilmé

The versatility of a material like Sintered Stone, was a great addition to harmoniously tie together all the different rooms.

The spectacular terrace is a clear example of this versatility as Neolith® is found on the floors, walls and stairs throughout for an esthetically continuous look.

In order for this very special place in the house to be perfect for relaxing, it had to require minimal maintenance. In order for this very special place in the house to be perfect for relaxing, it had to require minimal maintenance. Particularly in an area where the summers are short and the winters are long and freezing cold, materials suitable to the changes in weather were required just like Neolith® which is 100% natural, natural with a color natural with a color that does not fade with sun exposure or extreme temperatures. It is also doesn’t show any damage due to low temperatures and is impermeable and resistant to liquids.
