Natural chemistry between Neolith® and Jan Marrees

Chef: Jan Marrees
Restaurant: Restaurant Marrees
Country: Weert, Neederland
Models: Strata Argentum, Concrete Taupe, Estatuario

Situated in the Netherlands municipality of Weert, Restaurant Marrees is designed for comfort and relaxation. The restaurant is a highlight in chef Jan Marrees’ career, which started when he was 16 years old. Having worked in several Michelin star restaurants and becoming a Master Chef in 2011, he aspires to provide the highest quality of gastronomy and hospitality.

The interiors embrace natural elements. Floor to ceiling windows allow natural light to flood the dining room, reflecting off light coloured walls and flooring. Feature lighting fixtures are decorated with oyster shells while cork creates a mesmerising pattern on the walls.

Marrees comments, “We wanted this new restaurant to have an international look and feel, reminiscent of Amsterdam, London or New York. We’ve used a lot of natural products to help achieve this.”

Complementing the organic aesthetic, Neolith® was specified for a number of worktops and walls in the waiters’ area. Complementing the organic aesthetic, Neolith® was specified for a number of worktops and walls in the waiters’ area. The gentle striations of Strata Argentum create a sense of flow, its neutral monochrome contributing to a relaxed atmosphere.

Neolith® Estatuario adorns the restroom walls in a striking bookmatched motif. Its refined elegance is balanced with the warm tones of Concrete Taupe industrial, used for the flooring.

“We chose Neolith because along with being very easy to clean and maintain, it’s a beautiful, high class product.” Marrees continues
